I was born just outside of Portland, Oregon to a Mexican American dad and a Danish American mom. Not long after, my family moved to Spain, in a town called Sant Cugat del Valles, just outside of Barcelona. I lived there for the first couple years of my life, and it was there that I learned to speak Spanish and got to experience many different cultures. My Spanish preschool teacher was always frustrated with me because I often chose to sit under the table and sing instead of participating in class activities - not the norm for the well behaved children of Barcelona.

Before I knew it, my family moved back to the Pacific Northwest when I was four years old. I began dancing ballet, wanting to follow in the footsteps of my two older sisters. One Christmas, my mom took me to see the national tour of The Lion King, and I was completely blown away. As soon as the show ended, I knew that I wanted to do musical theatre for the rest of my life. I fell in love with the influential work of choreographers such as Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse, and George Balanchine.

Since then, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Music in Music Theater at Oklahoma City University, and had the opportunity to perform in a wide range of productions, such as Pippin, Spamalot, Bright Star, and Flashdance the Musical. I’ve also been able to step into a few creative roles and choreograph several pieces. In my time at OCU, I choreographed Cabaret and the Offenbach’s opera Orpheus in the Underworld, which includes the iconic Can-Can.

In my spare time, I am a huge classic film buff (my favorites include The Court Jester, Funny Face, and To Catch a Thief), an avid baguette eater, and a lover of couture fashion (the Met Gala is pretty much my favorite day of the year). I also have a calico cat, Marianne, named after the character from Sense & Sensibility. My family calls her an “opera cat”, because of her musical yowl.
